【Dance Movement Therapy Experience: "Dancing with Emotions"】
Objectives: International students face challenges of cross-cultural adaptation, stress, and emotional distress that can impact their academic performance and quality of life. This group aims to provide a platform for stress relief and emotional release through dance movement therapy, assisting international students in building emotional support networks, enhancing mental well-being, and developing greater confidence and adaptability.
Activities:
In this single, immersive "Dancing with Emotions" encounter, participants will engage in a series of activities designed to foster self-awareness, alleviate stress, and promote emotional connections. The group will commence with a brief introduction and self-introductions, followed by a gentle warm-up that readies participants mentally and physically for the journey ahead. The session will incorporate a "movement chain" exercise, where participants will respond to one another's movements in an interconnected sequence, fostering unity and unleashing creativity. The experience will draw to a close with a sharing circle, where participants can articulate reflections on their emotional journey throughout the process.
Benefits:
By utilizing dance movement therapy experiences, members are guided to examine and become aware of their current body-mind states, explore their inner selves, and learn the art of self-care. Expectingly, members will be encouraged to make more interpersonal and intrapersonal connections through movement activities. This process enables individuals to prepare themselves for a fresh new beginning.
